A Companion Animal End-of-Life Doula provides something that no checklist or appointment can fully offer — a steady, compassionate human presence that stays with you from the early preparations all the way through to farewell. Not as a medical professional. Not as a coordinator. But as someone who is simply, fully there.
What a Companion Animal
End-of-Life Doula Does
Doula support is holistic and personal. It begins wherever you are and follows your lead. Depending on your needs and your pet's journey, support may include:
Emotional Presence and Guidance – Someone to sit with you in the hard moments, help you process what you're feeling in real time, and hold space for both your grief and your love — without rushing either.
End-of-Life Preparation – Helping you understand what to expect physically and emotionally as your pet's life nears its end, so you feel informed and grounded rather than blindsided.
Bucket List and Final Experiences – Identifying what your pet still loves and helping you create intentional, joyful moments together — favorite places, favorite foods, the simple things that make their tail wag one more time.
Appointment Accompaniment – Being present at veterinary visits, end-of-life appointments, and in-home care — so you can focus entirely on your companion rather than managing logistics or facing the moment alone.
Aftercare Support – Guidance and presence through the immediate period following loss, when grief is fresh and the silence in your home feels loudest.

This is not a remote service. As a locally rooted Companion Animal End-of-Life Doula, I serve families in Billings and the surrounding Yellowstone County in person — because this kind of support is meant to be felt, not streamed.
